    Job Title: Technician

    Job Description

    The role of the Technician involves starting up equipment and working through ladder logic to establish and maintain all manufacturing equipment within the production areas. The position requires maintaining machinery and equipment in optimal working condition and providing technical assistance to operators and supervisors on mechanical, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic issues. You will recommend equipment replacement, schedule, and perform preventative maintenance.

    Responsibilities

    + Diagnose, repair, and replace electrical components for various manufacturing equipment, including variable speed motors, VFDS, Micromaster drives, encoders, contractors, relays, and related software programs.

    + Solve electrical problems with control wiring and board repairs as needed using all electrical measurement devices and mechanical tools.

    + Read and interpret equipment operation and parts manuals, electrical schematics, and perform computer tasks related to work.

    + Conduct day-to-day troubleshooting, repair, and installation of low and high voltage (single, three-phase) industrial electromechanical and control systems for utility and production equipment.

    + Install, wire, and maintain relays, photo-eyes, limit switches, proximity switches, solenoid valves, motors, starters, VFDs, PLC I/O modules, analog control devices, and safety circuits.

    + Layout circuits, install fixtures, bend and run conduit, and install motors and other electrical devices and components.

    Essential Skills

    + 10+ years of experience working as a PLC technician in an industrial manufacturing environment.

    + Proficiency in PLC wiring and troubleshooting.

    + Mechanical troubleshooting experience.

    + Ability to perform mechanical work, including valve replacement, conveyor bearing and chain replacement, motor/gearbox replacement, and electrical lube routes.

    + Experience reading blueprints and schematics.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Must provide own basic tools.

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkridge, Maryland.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $40.00/hr.
