Job Summary
As a key member of the Career Discovery and Success (CDS ) Operations team, the Engagements Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events and programs aimed to enhance career readiness and foster meaningful career connections across Auburn University’s campus.
This position reports to the Integrated Marketing & Communications Coordinator and is responsible for coordinating a variety of on-campus, virtual, hybrid, and in-person engagement events in collaboration with career services units across Auburn’s colleges and schools. Key events and programs include career fairs, interview days, Employer Days on the Plains, information sessions, mentor meetups, employer and alumni advisory boards, and initiatives such as Honoring Inclusive Recruitment and Employment (HIRE ), among others.
The Coordinator also supports Auburn University’s commitment to high-impact practices by organizing events and special programs that foster student engagement in experiential learning and the development of social capital—both of which are essential to strong first-destination outcomes.
This role also works in partnership with counterparts within colleges and schools to develop partnered, coordinated career services events. This effort is supported through the Auburn Career Services Network, which works to collectively develop and plan programs, special projects, events, and activities that align with university, departmental, and college strategic initiatives and goals around career development, career competency acquisition and articulation, as well as first destination outcomes.
Essential Functions
+ Develop, plan, and coordinate programs, special projects, events, and activities, including career fairs, mentorship, employer information sessions, and coordinated corporate/employer campus visits. Manages and oversees programs and events for Career Discovery and Success, as well as in partnership with college and school career services units and other stakeholders to promote employer and alumni engagement with students, faculty, and staff. May solicit feedback through a formal evaluation process to improve the programs and or events.
+ Designs, organizes, and manages logistics of all events, including: developing and managing guest lists and responses; securing various vendors (entertainment, tenting, rentals, catering, security, parking); coordinating committees and volunteer/student support services.
+ Develop relationships with campus stakeholders to promote interaction with employers/industry partners, alumni, colleges, faculty, staff, and student groups. Assists in and/or may facilitate a Career Connections Engagement Community and will maintain a master events calendar and coordinates career services events efforts and scheduling in partnership with college/school counterparts to provide more transparency and visibility of career services events at Auburn University.
+ Creates and maintains contact/engagement records the university career services networkCSM and Salesforce to better identify or recommend individuals, alumni, employer/industry contacts for engagement opportunities (speakers, panelists, lecturers, mentors, etc.), as well as prospects for partnership/donor development.
+ Partners with communication and marketing personnel within the office and department to collaboratively compose and design content for dissemination through a variety of media aimed to connect with and communicate to various stakeholder audiences (employers, students, alumni, faculty, and staff).
+ Provides a level of administrative support in relation to developing schedules, including employer interview day schedules, and coordinates travel arrangements, itineraries, and related reimbursement/administrative processes for those involved in programs and services by working with the functional units administrative assistant, as well as the offices coordinator of business services.
+ May supervise graduate students and student staff that assist in event coordination and management.

Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, Higher Education, Business, or related field.
Experience in event planning, public relations, donor relations, program management, budgeting, negotiating with vendors, and strong interpersonal skills.
