Job Summary
**Property Management Services at Auburn University** is excited to begin the search for a **TES Facilities Assistant** to assist with inspection and maintenance projects within the residence halls’ interior and exterior to ensure facilities are properly maintained to meet Auburn Property Management standards. Assist management in identifying areas of improvement, project planning and preparation, and inventory management.
This position exceeds the expectations of a typical employee. It is distinguished by the responsibility for a wide variety of both routine and non-routine assignments across multiple areas. Due to the nature of the environment, an elevated level of professionalism and interpersonal skills are required.
BENEFITS OFEMPLOYMENT
+ $10.00 – $12.50 per hour for 20 – 40 hours of work per week
+ Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm (30-minute lunch)

**Temporary Employment Services (TES ),** a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university.TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
+ Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
+ Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
+ Assistance with special projects
+ Seasonal work
+ Emergencies

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position involves frequent bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting heavy objects and equipment while performing job duties. Wrist, hand, and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions.
Essential Functions
+ Assist with Residence Hall Inspections and general housing maintenance.
+ Operate equipment with small engines/motors such as power washers, carpet cleaners, and other power tools.
+ Assist with building preparation for Summer Camps & Conferences and Fall Move in.
+ Assist with maintenance, including inspecting furniture, moving furniture, repairing furniture, replacing damaged or defective appliances, and other duties as needed to prepare rooms.

Expectations:
+ Due to the time commitment of theTES Facilities Assistant position, candidates must be able to commit to the scheduled working hours for this position.
+ Essential characteristics include time management, punctuality, professionalism, commitment to customer satisfaction, communication skills with a diverse group of customers and staff, and flexibility
+ Demonstrated success in working with groups and dealing with demanding situations
+ Strong administrative skills with particular attention to detail required
+ Must be in good conduct standing with the university – conduct records will be verified
