    Job Description

    II **Duties**

    Task 1: Computer Work

    + Do data entry with a computerized inventory system to issue out parts

    + Do data entry to create purchase requests in a computerized inventory system for parts breakdowns, overhauls, and items that do not re-order

    + Create “hard copy” manual purchase requisitions for same day local parts pick up

    + Create “hard copy” manual Internal “RGM” (return goods memorandum)

    + Email communication for many things, especially communicating request to add things to the computerized inventory (in a specific format)

    + Complete Service Provider Documents (forms) for items going out for evaluation/repair

    + Record orders, log parts in and out, and monitor stock.

    Task 2: Walk-up Service

    + Walk to service window to find out what each person needs and obtain the requested item(s) from inventory.

    + Accompany the person, if the person requesting parts needs to access the stockroom, the entire time they’re in the Tool Crib (including mezzanine level).

    + Record (sign-out) all parts being removed (where used, who’s removing, quantity, item part #, and item description).

    Task 3: Shipping

    + Performs packaging of items being shipped out for evaluation/repair.

     

    (Original packaging is used for heavy items (if available) and may require the use of an assisted left table or a hoist.)

     

    + Use whatever re-cycled packaging is available to package smaller items for shipment.

    + Pack parts in boxes and transport to pallet on wheeled resin cart.

    + First floor cart: 100x50, 9” with 2 shelves, 7 pounds of force required to push cart with 80 pound load.

    + Second floor cart: 32.5” with 2 shelves

    + Move pallet to staging area for pick up by another department with a forklift.

    Task 4: Receiving Stock

    + Receive, identify, store, and monitor spare/replacement parts, tools, and production supplies.

    + Match hard copies of the purchase order and the receiving report to determine if any of the Purchase Order is incomplete.

    + Transfer stock from pallet to resin cart

    + Wheel stock on painted seamed concrete (first floor) to appropriate storage shelf or storage cabinet. Storage cabinets are kept locked. (Storage racks are an 8-shelf rack system - 4” to bottom shelf, 85.5” to top shelf.)

    + Use 3-step and 5-step portable stairs to reach shelves.

    + 3-step portable stairs: Double handrail; three (3) 10” steps;

    ( 9 lbs of force required to pull)

    + 5-step portable stairs: 2 sets with double handrails;, first step is 3” and four (4) 11” steps; (13 lbs of force required to pull)

    + Use Service Elevator to transport stock to second floor. (Elevator has push button operation at 41-50” high; door is lifted to 80”; requires 11 lbs. of force to lift door.)

    + Walk-up fourteen (14) 8” steps with double handrails to painted wood platform (second floor), which has a 6-shelf storage system - 4” to bottom rack; 72” to top rack.

    + Use portable step stool, with two (2) 10” steps, to reach up to 93” to put stock away on second floor.

     

    (Emergency exit from second floor has nine (9) 12” ladder style steps with double handrails.)

    Task 5: Other Duties (Not All Inclusive):

    + Notify Receiving Dept. of parts fabricated in house, so purchase orders for them can be marked as complete and put items away in the stockroom.

    + Assist (non-maintenance personnel) employees with regard to ordering and checking status of items and/or materials for projects.

    + Work with Purchasing Department on delivery scheduling to meet the level of urgency for materials needed, including arrangement of “SAME DAY PICKUP” from local suppliers.

    + Identify problem areas in inventory control and bring them to the attention of the Maintenance Systems Administrator.

    + Interact with mechanics, electricians, etc. on parts required for breakdown repair.

    + Keep area organized and neat.

    + Sweep and mop area.

    1.

     

    + High School Diploma or GED

    + A working knowledge (and practical experience) of computers and various “office” products.

    + A knowledge of common mechanical and electrical parts in an industrial setting (not exactly how they work, but what they are):

    + Pumps, valves, regulators, seals, bearings, fittings, filters, lubricants

    + Motors, relays, fuses, switches, sensors, cables, connectors, lamps and fixtures

    + A knowledge of tools and raw materials for parts fabrication (metal and non-metal):

    + Drill and taps

    + Material Hardness, gauge, etc.

    + Welding and brazing supplies

    + Pass Ramsey’s Tool Crib Attendant Test.
