The Senior Proposal Manager leads the development of high-impact RFPs and RFIs for the Leave Administration line of business. This role is responsible for crafting compelling, compliant, and strategically positioned proposals that highlight the firm's products, services, and value propositions. Leveraging existing content libraries and templates, the Senior Proposal Manager manages the most complex and high-value proposal efforts, collaborating with subject matter experts and sales teams to deliver tailored responses that reflect market intelligence and brand differentiation.
Open to candidates outside the Pittsburgh area, with remote work options available. Travel to office might be needed based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead end-to-end proposal development for high-profile clients and prospects.
+ Collaborate with sales and account executives to define proposal strategy, win themes, and timelines.
+ Facilitate kick-off and status meetings, ensuring alignment and progress across stakeholders.
+ Ensure full compliance with RFP/RFI requirements and internal standards.
+ Partner with writers and quality assurance managers to produce clear, persuasive, and customer-focused content.
+ Oversee editing and formatting to maintain consistency with brand, style, and compliance guidelines.
+ Conduct self-reviews and peer reviews to uphold quality and accuracy
+ Project Coordination & Reporting
+ Manage proposal schedules, version control, and submission logistics (electronic and hard copy).
+ Track and report on proposal metrics and status updates.
+ Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental best practices.
+ Serve as a mentor for team members, providing guidance on product lines and professional development.
+ Act as a resource and consultant to Proposal Development leadership.
+ Provide backup support to management as needed.
+ Finalist Presentation Support
+ Offer consultative input to ensure key RFP details are effectively communicated in finalist presentations.
+ Participate in training and development activities.
+ Contribute to ad hoc projects and initiatives as directed by Proposal Development leadership.
+ Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Professional Writing, or related field.
+ 7+ years of proposal development or technical writing experience, preferably in insurance or professional services.
+ including, but not limited to: analysis of RFPs/RFIs, developing proposal timelines, schedules, and compliance matrixes, leading kick-off meetings, maintaining draft version control, reporting upon proposal status and coordinating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
+ Skilled in analyzing RFPs/RFIs, managing timelines, leading kick-off meetings, and coordinating with SMEs.
+ Experienced in developing cover letters, executive summaries, and other RFP/RFI-related content.
+ Proven ability to implement process improvements.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Leadership or mentorship experience preferred.
+ Familiarity with Qvidian, SmartDocs, or similar RFP tools preferred.
+ Background in health insurance is a plus.
