Position Summary
Incumbent is responsible for processing and posting all payments to Utica University for student and interdepartmental account; data and reports relating to various programs such as student health insurance. This is a 10-month position running August 1 through May 31.

Major Responsibilities
+ Record and post all funds to the university to their appropriate account, including, but not limited to, all Student Receivables, and General Ledger Accounts.
+ Responsible for cashiering operations including payment by checks, cash, credit cards, via secure on-line payment notices, mail and wire payments..
+ Balance and account for daily work and prepare deposit slips for next day deposits to bank. · Responsible for daily cash up and feed to Finance Department.
+ Submit reconciled daily cash up and bank deposit receipts to Finance, ensure Student Accounts copies are maintained.
+ Review daily Application of Payments, and resolve discrepancies.
+ Responsible and has authority to access the safe daily and maintain access log for security purposes.
+ Process requests for various campus petty cash replenishments, including ordering withdrawals from bank.
+ Responsible for Petty Cash for vending machine related issues.
+ Posts payments, exemptions, remitted fee applications and contracts (including but not limited to VESID ) to accounts.
+ Review NP list each semester, to ensure students are payment arranged.
+ Evaluate students’ eligibility for cancellations, deferments, payment plans, or placement with collection agencies.
+ Acts as Liaison between UU and Collection Agencies to post payments and keep accounts current. Process student refunds, handles void and stop payment requests where necessary.
+ Approve all e-refund batches in CashNet daily.
+ Processes third party overpayment refunds.
+ Work with Finance Department regarding write-offs and stale refund checks.
+ Assist Director of Student Accounts to approve/deny students’ book voucher requests.
+ Assist Director of Student Accounts to reconcile and processes payment request to Follett Bookstore for book vouchers awarded each semester.
+ Assist Director of Student Accounts to manage student health insurance, including processing waivers, and requests for insurance, and updates the insurance company on any additions, cancellations and problems regarding coverage.
+ Assist Director of Student Accounts to coordinate with the insurance company to reconcile and processes payment each semester.
+ Applies various charges to students’ accounts. (Traffic fines, Dorm damages, etc.)
+ Reviews eligibility for transcripts, diploma requests and readmission to the University .
+ May perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Qualifications
- Associate degree required but consideration will be given for education and considerable experience in a similar setting.
- Experience in the banking and/or loan fields helpful.
Minimum Skills/Abilities
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products such as Word, Excel and Access required.
- Ellucian Banner experience preferred.
