    WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time **Staff Tunnel/Geotechnical Engineer** for our **San Francisco, CA office** .     Your Impact

    + Perform geotechnical analysis and design of foundations, embankments/cuts, tunnels, support of excavations, and earth retaining systems.

    + Prepare geotechnical memorandum, data and design reports

    + Assist with preparation of engineering design plans and specifications, estimating quantities for cost estimates, and design documentation.

    + Provide geotechnical support during construction

    + Conduct field inspection of geotechnical construction

    + Conduct geotechnical investigations and develop laboratory testing programs

     

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering

    + 1-2 years of relevant post education experience in engineering

    + Educational background and interest in tunneling and geotechnical engineering.

    + Good verbal and written communication skills

    + Knowledgeable of 2D and 3D finite element geotechnical modeling

    + Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, discipline-specific design software (i.e., MS software, AutoCAD, Python, numerical modeling software, and MATLAB.

    + Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering focus

    + Experience on tunnel and underground transportation projects.

    + Experience using commercially available geotechnical software (i.e. Ensoft, Bentley, Rocscience, Itasca, GeoMotions)

    + Ability and willingness to travel for field work

    Compensation and Benefits:

    WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.

     

    Expected Salary: $90,000 - $110,000
