    About the Role:

This role is responsible for leading and executing a wide range of HVAC mechanical and control system tasks, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex building systems. You’ll work with electric and pneumatic controls, fuel-based heating systems, and specialized components like dampers, actuators, valves, and steam traps. Collaboration with commissioning engineers and coordination with other trades is key to ensuring optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety standards. This position requires both hands-on technical expertise and leadership in guiding team operations and project execution.

    What You’ll Do:

Assign tasks to team members and ensure all duties are completed in a timely manner. Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment—including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components. This includes working with mechanical HVAC systems such as ductwork, air handlers, chillers, boilers, and rooftop units, as well as pneumatic components like air compressors, regulators, and actuators.

Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards. You’ll also be responsible for valve replacements, steam trap inspections, and insulation work to improve system efficiency and reliability. Tasks may include maintaining fume hoods, adjusting set points for temperature and pressure, and installing temporary metering devices for performance monitoring.

Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine the best course of action for equipment modifications, including repairs to motors, belts, sensors, and thermostats. Collaborate with HVAC commissioning engineers to validate system performance and conduct functional testing, while coordinating with other trades—such as electrical, plumbing, and building automation—to ensure integrated system operation.

Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions. Coach others and share expertise across multiple job disciplines. Lead by example and model behaviors that align with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and influence others toward agreement. Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and across related teams. Operate within broad guidelines and policies, and communicate difficult or sensitive information effectively.

    What You’ll Need:

+ High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.

+ Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

+ Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

+ Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.

+ In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

+ Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

+ Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
