    Loyola Medical Center located in the western suburbs and approximately, 35 minutes from downtown Chicago. Easy access from I290 and I55.

    Hours:

    + Full-Time

    + Days, Monday - Friday

    + 7:00am - 3:30pm

    + Rotating every other weekend among the team

    + **Brand NEW Clinical Laboratory - Features daylight access, in an open concept lab space**

    About the job

     

    In this role, the Microbiology- Medical Lab Scientist will be responsible for supporting the delivery of patient care by performing laboratory testing that is utilized in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. **_*Experience with waived, moderate, and high complexity testing in a "clinical" laboratory setting through education or work experience required* E_** **_xperience with evaluating peripheral blood, bone marrow, tissue or other body fluid._**

    What you'll do

    + Performs all laboratory testing, including the pre-examination phase in accordance with standard operating procedures and accreditation guidelines to support the delivery of patient care.

    + Conducts and documents established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluates the results of quality control testing and implements corrective action according to established protocols to ensure the accuracy and quality of patient testing.

    + Participates in the validation of laboratory methods and procedures to meet the changing health care needs of our patients.

     

    Here is what you'll need

    Required:

    + Bachelor's degree or associate Degree

    + **Specific Degree(s):** Medical Technologist, Medical Technician or Medical Laboratory Science

     

    Licensure/Certifications

    Preferred:

    + Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) or equivalent

    + **Other:** Laboratory certification required (ASCP or HEW)

    Pay Range: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour
