    Description

    Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of over 3,000 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

     

    As a Logistics Operations Manager, you will own and drive the end-to-end logistics strategy for Kuiper’s Ground Systems deployment at global scale. This role requires close collaboration with internal and external partners for both strategic planning and at the execution level. You’ll develop scalable solutions for complex logistics challenges using a multi-modal transportation strategy, leveraging warehousing solutions as needed.

     

    Success in the role requires analytical capabilities, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to dive deep while maintaining a big-picture perspective. You’ll work backwards from stakeholder and business needs to develop a comprehensive logistics plan and ensure on time delivery of Ground Systems shipments.

    Export Control Requirements

    Key job responsibilities

     

    - Own end to end strategy and execution for Kuiper Ground Systems, partnering with internal stakeholders in Supply Chain, Global Trade, Finance, Gateway Implementation and Infrastructure teams to achieve Kuiper goals

     

    - Build and maintain strong relationships with Logistics Service Providers and Suppliers

     

    - Develop and maintain program KPIs, metrics reporting systems, and regular business reviews (WBR/MBR)

     

    - Develop long-term shipment forecast models that inform Ground Systems production schedule and installation timelines

     

    - Develop comprehensive logistics plans encompassing ocean, warehousing (bonded/non-bonded), and ground delivery

     

    - Develop risk assessments and standard operating procedures, drive continuous improvement

     

    - Develop strategic budget forecast (OP1/OP2) and lead cost optimization efforts

     

    - Manage and drive shipment exceptions and escalations to resolution

     

    - Identify and implement scalable solutions to support Kuiper Ground Systems growth

    Basic Qualifications

    - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field

     

    - 5+ years in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management

     

    - 3+ years managing complex logistics programs or projects, including budget responsibility

     

    - 3+ years of process development and continuous improvement

     

    - 5+ years developing, tracking and reporting KPIs

     

    - Experience managing relationships with Logistics Service Providers and Freight Forwarders

     

    - Ability to obtain and maintain a US Passport

     

    - Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, both domestic and international

     

    - With or without reasonable accommodations, must be able to lift up to 49 pounds on some occasions, stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours (with breaks), and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.

     

    - Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment

     

    - Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

     

    - Excellent communication and leadership skills

     

    - Experience working proactively and independently

     

    - Prioritize multiple tasks and assignments effectively

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
