    Job Description:

    Director of Data Platform & Governance will lead the transformation and modernization of our enterprise data ecosystem. This role will drive the development and execution of a comprehensive data platform strategy, integrating robust data governance, metadata management, and modern platform technologies. The ideal candidate will be both a visionary leader and a hands-on expert in building scalable, secure, and future-ready data solutions.

    Education Qualifications:

    Key Responsibilities:

    Data Platform Strategy & Modernization:

    + Define and execute a roadmap for modernizing the enterprise data platform, including hybrid migration, data lake/data warehouse architecture, and analytic capability modernization

    + Oversee the integration and optimization of modern data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure/AWS/GCP, Kafka)

    + Lead cross-functional teams in designing scalable data solutions that support analytics, reporting, machine learning, and business intelligence use cases

    Data Governance & Compliance:

    + Develop and lead a robust data governance framework that ensures data quality, security, privacy, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)

    + Chair the Data Governance Council and establish clear data stewardship roles across the organization

    + Implement data policies, standards, and processes to support trusted and ethical data use

    Data Catalog & Metadata Management:

    + Lead the implementation and adoption of a modern data catalog solution to enable enterprise-wide data discovery, data lineage, and metadata management

    + Promote a culture of data literacy by enabling users to easily find and understand the data available to them

    + Ensure integration of the data catalog with data governance tools and data pipelines

    Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:

    + Manage a high-performing team of data engineers, architects, and governance professionals

    + Partner with business and IT leaders to align data platform capabilities with organizational goals

    + Evangelize data best practices and promote a culture of innovation, transparency, and continuous improvement

    Education Requirement:

    + Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, data analytics, statistics)

    Required Qualifications:

    + 8+ years progressive experience in data architecture, data engineering, enterprise architecture or related domains

    + Experience leading large-scale data platform modernization efforts

    + Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks, data catalog tools (e.g., Collibra Alation, Informatica, data.world), and metadata management

    + Strong understanding of cloud data platforms and services (e.g., Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery)

    + Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance)

    + Certification in data governance, cloud platforms, or enterprise architecture (e.g., CDMP, AWS Certified Data Analytics, TOGAF)
