**Pay Range:** $76.35 - $128.27 per hour
Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. Summary:
Rush University Medical Center is seeking a **Senior Director, Enterprise Systems** to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our enterprise applications portfolio. This executive leader will oversee delivery and optimization of critical systems that power our clinical, business, and research operations — ensuring alignment with RUSH’s mission to improve health through excellence in patient care, education, research, and community partnerships.
In this high-impact role, you’ll:
+ Provide strategic leadership for enterprise applications, including ERP (Workday), CRM (ServiceNow), and other core technologies.
+ Partner with senior leadership to shape RUSH’s IT strategy, roadmaps, and investments.
+ Lead a team of talented professionals, including remote and onsite staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and accountability.
+ Manage a multimillion-dollar portfolio, ensuring operational excellence, vendor alignment, and delivery of transformative solutions.
The ideal candidate is a proven healthcare IT leader with executive experience driving large-scale application portfolios, leading diverse teams, and navigating the complexities of a major academic health system. The incumbent must perform all duties and responsibilities in a professional manner that exemplifies the RUSH Mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with RUSH policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
+ Develops and directs the Enterprise Systems application portfolio function within D&IS and collaborates with senior management to determine priorities within the department. Works with D&IS leadership to establish IT strategies for those areas prioritized.
+ Collaborates with senior D&IS leadership to facilitate development of a master IT Strategic plan which aligns with internal D&IS strategic objectives and RUSH enterprise business objectives.
+ Oversees development of standards and processes to manage the Enterprise Systems software application portfolio across all D&IS service lines in coordination with roadmaps and budgets from across the various IT service lines.
+ Oversees development of tools and templates needed to support the Enterprise Systems software application portfolio, including but not limited to playbooks, process flow diagrams, project plans/schedules.
+ Facilitates process improvement and integration of RUSH’s strategic priorities across the Enterprise Systems software application portfolio.
+ Directs appropriate resources internal and external to the Enterprise Systems department to conduct IT assessments, develop IT roadmaps, IT budgets and IT staffing plans.
+ Collaborates with the senior D&IS leadership to establish IT strategies for the Enterprise Systems software application portfolio as required to meet strategic objectives for those services, as well as for RUSH overall.
+ Directs the assessment of industry leading practices on an on-going basis and supports strategies to continually improve our department’s capabilities around Enterprise Systems software application management.
+ Participates in organization wide planning activities to ensure information technology investments support the business plan as well as other tactical and operational priorities.
+ Promotes effective, open communication and develops collaborative working relationships with all levels of staff, clinicians, educators, researchers and leadership.
+ Contributes in enterprise wide committees, task forces and performance improvement teams.
+ Overseas operations, budgeting and staffing of the Enterprise Systems department. A strong fiscal steward. Defines organizational structure and allocates staff appropriately based on enterprise, organizational and/or departmental plans and priorities.
+ Keeps senior leadership and Digital & Information Services staff informed of key projects, activities and/or issues for areas managed.
+ Mentors, develops recruits and retains a proactive, service-oriented team. Fosters an environment that promotes professional growth and staff development through effective leadership and education. Oversees the selection, development, management and evaluation of indirect reports and professional services required to support department efforts.
+ Develops and recommends departmental and corporate policies and procedures for acquiring, implementing, supporting and using information systems and services.
+ Effectively manages and leverages information technology vendor relationships to achieve strategic alignment and maximize value for RUSH, including vendor performance and adherence to contract terms and conditions.
+ Stays current and knowledgeable regarding advances with technology in the industry including maintaining an understanding of national initiatives such as interoperability, digital health, CRM, telemedicine and population health management.
+ Performs other duties as assigned by the CIO
Required Job Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree required.
+ Ten to fifteen years of previous experience in IS management experience within a dynamic and complex health system.
+ Demonstrated executive leadership skills with a mature sense of priorities and solid practical experience to implement the goals of the institution.
+ An individual who is politically astute, has a high tolerance for ambiguity, and can work successfully in a complex management model. Work requires diplomatic skills to negotiate with, collaborate with and persuade peer level department heads and/or external agencies/facilities/vendors on issues and programs that impact RUSH’s business.
+ Approachable, strategic leader with a proven ability to build and sustain trusting relationships across the enterprise at all levels and demonstrated customer focus.
+ Proven ability to design and drive change.
+ ERP (Workday) implementation and optimization experience is required. CRM (ServiceNow) implementation and optimization experience preferred.
+ Possess the ability to identify and resolve highly complex ethical, strategic, and healthcare operational problems.
+ Experience in the delivery of complex application initiatives.
+ Experience with repeatable application delivery and support processes and deliverables.
+ Demonstrated ability to select and integrate major application systems and services.
+ Experience in a role requiring budget responsibility of $10 Million or more with line management accountability.
+ Experience in application management, driving best practices, standards, measurement, and service-oriented architecture approaches.
+ Demonstrated effectiveness as a thought leader and business partner to senior operating leaders.
+ Demonstrated strong application background with program management, project management, and execution and delivery oversight, with attention to detail around metrics, accountability, and operational excellence.
+ Proficient level of knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
+ Strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to develop and implement complex plans, required.
