Description

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Controller and or Senior Accounting Manager to oversee key financial operations and ensure the accuracy of accounting processes. Based in San Francisco Bay Area this position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring three days onsite each week. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting, payroll management, and financial reporting, while collaborating closely with executive leadership and external partners.

Responsibilities:

• Manage comprehensive accounting functions, including payroll processing, month-end close, and cash accounting.

• Ensure timely and accurate billing processes using timekeeping and billing systems.

• Utilize QuickBooks and Excel to maintain financial records and support reporting requirements.

• Collaborate with external accounting firms to handle tax filings and compliance tasks.

• Oversee 401(k) submissions and ensure adherence to company match processes.

• Maintain and analyze timekeeping data to support accurate financial documentation.

• Support Subchapter S corporation compliance and reporting obligations.

• Communicate effectively with internal teams via Slack and other tools to ensure smooth financial operations.

• Implement and oversee document control processes to maintain organized records.

• Manage expense accounts and ensure timely bill payments using platforms such as bill.com

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Management.

• At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise and advanced Excel functions.

• Strong knowledge of timekeeping and billing systems, including experience with Harvest or similar tools.

• Familiarity with payroll processes for multi-state operations and organizations with under 100 employees.

• Experience managing month-end close procedures and expense accounts.

• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment and collaborate with executive leadership.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with strong communication abilities.
