    **Job Title:** Injection Molding Process Engineer

    **Location:** Chattanooga, TN

    **Salary Range:** $90-105k

    **Shift:** 2nd, 2pm-11pm with OT as needed

    **Department:** injection molding

    **Industry:** automotive manufacturing

    **Reports to:** Injection Department Manager

    Responsibilities:

    + Drives data driven control of injection molding processes, implementing measurable process data and KPIs

    + Ensures processes and environment are stable and optimizes delivering predictable results

    + Participates in new product/process tool validation and process development launches

    + Implements molding standards, controls and optimizes process parameters, and exchanges best practices within molding networks

    + Stabilizes and optimizes molding area performance (material consumption and scrap reduction)

    + Reduces mold change times and deploys “single minute exchange of die” (SMED) methodology

    + Tests and validates technical solutions, analyzes process failures, supports new projects launches

    + Participates in continuous improvement activities and productivity covering all process areas: cycle times, scrap, downtime, machine/tool and energy

    + Owns the technical integrity of injection molding areas including database documentation and support

    + Designs and justifies new improvements and equipment to reduce downtime and increase productivity

    + Communicates effectively with the team to make sure that they are working toward the same business goals; trains and coaches injection technicians and operators

    + Supports injection process FMEA documentation and makes sure that standardized work practices are being used

    + Drives the Injection Technician team and mold setters to deliver best in class processes and standards

    + Ensures quality standards are maintained by the Injection Technician team.

    + May program robots or lead injection robot programmers

    + Put in place effective visual management

    Qualifications/Knowledge

    + Engineering Degree preferred or good combination of education plus industry experience (Chemical Engineering/Plastics Technology Engineering education would be a plus)

    + Extensive knowledge and understanding of high tonnage injection processes and systems in the automotive industry

    + 4-7 years of experience in the automotive industry with production or engineering of large production equipment management, injection molded plastic parts

    + Proven background in problem-solving as well as deployment of industrial standards and best practices, ability to apply lean methods to products, processes and flows

    + Previous experience in robot programming would be a plus

    + Mastery of the English language and strong computer skills

    + Ability to interface with both internal and external customers as needed

    **Must be authorized to work in the United States, client is not able to offer sponsorship at this time

    **Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
