Spirit AeroSystems designs and builds aerostructures for both commercial and defense customers. With headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, Spirit operates sites in the U.S., U.K., France and Malaysia. Responsibilities

+ Work with engineering requirements, work orders, prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, documents, verbal and electronic information to manufacture to quality requirements, parts and assemblies.

+ Fabricate assemblies using computerized numerical controlled (CNC) mediums while simultaneously ensuring product and/or process quality at all levels of the manufacturing operation through monitoring/verification methodologies.

+ Determine and adjust as necessary machine feeds, speeds, and work alignment using shop mathematics, charts and graphs and precision measuring instruments.

+ Ability to machine proof new and revised part programs.

+ Adjust tool set-ups and make minor machine adjustments to ensure safe operation of the machine.

+ Adapt tooling and holding fixtures as necessary to orient machine tool cutters and machining fixtures.

+ Ability to check parts for correct dimensions using heights gages, gauge blocks, micrometers, calipers, protractors, and other precisions tools.

+ Use precision measuring instruments required to accomplish tasks.

+ Utilize tooling in the assembly of components into sub-assemblies or end items.

+ Verify work performed is per work instructions and meets process and/or engineering specification.

+ Identify discrepancies found per applicable procedure.

+ Ensure equipment and tool certification occurs per procedure.

+ Assist in the training of other assembly personnel in assembly and installation techniques.

Qualifications

Required:

+ All candidates must be able to work any shift.

+ Qualified candidate will need to successfully pass a skills demonstration.

+ All Candidates must pass The WorkKeys Assessment (www.workkeys.com) or provide verification that they have passed The WorkKeys Assessment. Delay in completing your WorkKeys Assessment will result in a delay in your start date. You may complete your assessment in advance of an interview.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience in a manufacturing/production setting

+ Background in aerospace/aviation

+ Knowledge of hand tools and precision measuring instruments
