    Job Description

    The purpose of this position is to serve as a member of a multi-disciplinary care team to facilitate quality care, guided by guests’ individualized care plans, ILC and Nursing department policies and procedures, and local, state and federal guidelines. This position is Full Time in The Retreat.

    Position Duties

    > Maintain confidentiality of residents, resident family members, coworkers and ILC

     

    > Understand and support the philosophy, policies and standards of Immanuel Living and the Nursing Services Department

     

    > Maintain quality of resident care, including compliance with Facility and Nursing Services Department policies and procedures, and local, state and federal guidelines

     

    > Accurately record resident care in the EMR

     

    > Inform nurses of changes in resident condition, in a timely manner

     

    > Charge out billable supplies

     

    > Give Charge/Medication Nurse report at the end of assigned shift

     

    > Answer unit telephone when nurse is unavailable

     

    > Communicate accurately, considerately, professionally and with consideration of residents’ privacy, with residents, co-workers, managers and residents’ family members

     

    > Participate in appropriate/assigned training and/or meetings

     

    > This position reports to the unit/charge nurse

     

    > The incumbent is expected to make decisions as to the timing and sequence of work. Work is performed according to established policies and procedures and/or within applicable laws, rules and regulations governing the tasks being performed.

     

    > Use ILC’s electronic charting system accurately, and in a timely manner, for all tasks expected in this role

     

    > Accurately and safely perform hospitable resident care in accordance with residents’ care plans, resident Assignment Sheets and worksheets, and providers and nurses’ instructions( within your scope of practice)

     

    > Assist with dispensing prescribed medications, except for PRN, injections of any sort, per rectum or meds through G tube,

     

    > This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Requirements

    Education and Experience

     

    > Have successfully passed a board-approved Medication Aide II training program and examination

     

    > Have at least 4000 hours (approx. 2 years) of work experience as a CNA in a long-term care facility

     

    > High School diploma or equivalent

     

    > Be familiar with state and federal guidelines pertaining to long-term care and the Medication Aide role.

     

    Licenses or Certifications Required By Law

     

    > Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the State of Montana

     

    > Current certification as a Medication Aide II in the state of Montana.

     

    > Current CPR/BLS certification; up-to-date knowledge of First Aid

     

    > Completion of required education credits in the period of licensure, as required by the State of Montana

     

    Physical and Mental Requirements

     

    > The incumbent must be at least 18 years of age, due to federal requirements related to the work performed.

     

    > Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work under time and/or deadline pressures.

     

    > Required vision abilities include close up and distance, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to accurately read fine print.

     

    > Hearing adequate, with or without aids, to understand a normal speaking voice.

     

    > Able to speak business-related English such that they can be clearly understood by individuals and groups.
