When will I work?

+ 3/12s Schedule,– The primary work hours for this position are 6:00am to 6:00pm, Thursday through Saturday, with overtime required as needed.

Where is this opportunity located?

Position located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota i n our Metal department.

What are the pay and perks:

In addition to base pay, this position also includes an additional $5.00 in shift and skill increments.

What will the work look like for me?

+ A Metal Machine Operator manufactures sheet metal assemblies and extruded frames.

+ Set up and operate a variety of machines—for example, a metal punch, press brake, saw, or 5-axis CNC mill. Operate some computer/controlled machines. Use precision measuring instruments such as digital caliper, digital protractor, square, etc.

+ Safely and responsibly use tools including air driven power, manual and other tools (for example drills and riveting guns).

+ Follow written instructions and blueprints. Record work done. Perform basic math calculations.

+ Accurately and consistently complete quality work in a timely manner. Inspect your own work. Quickly learn new tasks. Accurately and consistently complete repetitive tasks.

+ Work effectively as a team member, work with little supervision, help when and where needed, make suggestions for process and product improvement, and communicate effectively with team members.

+ Daktronics promotes a flexible/agile work force; employees must be willing to work in other areas to support business needs.

+ Perform other duties as needed to meet customer expectations.

+ Program metal fabrication machines through automated computer equipment.

Qualifications

To be considered for Metal Machine Operator, we require the following:

+ High school diploma or GED required.

+ Current or previous successful metal machine operation experience preferred.

+ Good communication skills.

+ Ability to learn quickly.

+ Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team.

+ Ability to work with minimum supervision.

+ Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours. Ability to work overtime when workload requires.

+ Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, and electrostatic discharge wear.

+ Physical requirements include the ability to:

+ Distinguish and identify color.

+ Read fine print.

+ Work with odors (solder, paint, solvent, or general manufacturing odor).

+ Lift and carry heavy (up to 50 lbs.) and/or awkward items.

+ Stand or sit for the full shift.

+ Have full range of motion (including but not limited to bending and lifting) required to perform the job function.

+ Maintain steady hand-eye coordination.

+ Reach in all directions and in potentially awkward positions.

+ Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Qualified Driver status. Motor vehicle records will be checked.

+ Fluent in English, written and verbal.

+ Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
