    Job Focus Area

     

    This Education Consultant 4 is located within the Office of Assessments, Accountability, and Analytics, and reports to the classified Education Consultant Supervisor. This position serves as the leader for Birth to grade 3 assessments, and is responsible for ensuring the creation and implementation of a robust assessment platform for all of early childhood. This position provides an unparalleled opportunity for an individual who is a highly organized, critical thinker, communicator, and innovator.

     

    Statewide assessments provide crucial information about how well students across Louisiana are performing and the degree to which they are truly ready for college and career. This information (a) allows the state, districts and schools to better direct resources to improve educational outcomes for students, and (b) helps parents understand how their children are progressing.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Eight years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR

     

    Six years of full-time work experience plus five years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR

     

    A bachelor's degree plus five years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR

     

    An advanced degree plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    As an Education Consultant 4, you will lead Louisiana’s efforts to develop and implement a comprehensive Birth to Grade 3 assessment program. In this role, you will:

     

    + Oversee the daily operations of the statewide Birth to Grade 3 assessment program and ensure its successful implementation across early childcare centers and school systems.

    + Develop clear policies, resources, and guidance to support educators in administering high-quality early childhood assessments.

    + Provide direct assistance to school systems by answering questions, offering technical support, and coordinating statewide communications related to Birth to Grade 3 assessments.

    + Collaborate with teams across the agency to ensure early childhood assessments align with other key initiatives and meet state and federal expectations.

    + Manage the certification process for assessment data, working with school systems to validate information and ensure accuracy in statewide reporting.

    + Represent the Department at school system meetings and stakeholder events, providing updates and gathering feedback to improve assessment practices.

    + Review assessment materials, reports, and guidance documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with program goals before public release.

    Position-Specific Details:

    Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.

     

    Work Schedule: Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.

     

    Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

     

    **Note regarding the advertised pay range: The Education Consultant series have a special entrance rate that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career andnot the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire .
