SUMMARY
+ The Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
+ Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls.
+ Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Performs, research design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment
+ Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment
+ Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results
+ Designs, implements and tests/sources and cost justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods
+ Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency
+ Represents manufacturing on cross functional teams
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
+ Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time span
+ Management; the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
+ Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including layout, assembly and production equipment
+ Product development experience
+ Quality orientation and attention to detail
+ Problem analysis and problem resolution
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
+ Strong team player
+ Ability to solve complex problems and a variety of changing needs under stress
+ Solid decision making skills
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor degree or equivalent experience preferred.
+ Computer assisted design proficiency.
+ Computer proficiency.
+ The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
+ Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimals.
+ Must be able to use and read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer, dial bore gauge, and various other precision measurement equipment.
REASONING ABILITY
+ Abstract reasoning ability
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
+ Lifting: Occasional, up to 50 lbs.
+ Standing: 8 + hours per day
+ Walking: off and on, 4-6 hours per day
+ Body positions; squatting, bending, extending arms, stooping, reaching overhead
+ Grasping: both hands up to 4 hours per day
+ Sitting: Occasionally
+ Pushing: Occasionally
+ Climbing: Occasionally
+ Availability to travel 50% or more
