    Work From Home Option: Hybrid - 2 Days/Week (40% Remote)

    Job Overview:

    The HR Associate is a temporary role responsible for providing a variety of HR services to managers, employees, and assigned business units. The HR Associate reports to our Talent Acquisition and Development Manager. The HR Associate establishes relationships with business partners to determine their HR needs and deliver timely and efficient customer service, including effective problem resolution. Duties include but are not limited to, HR policy interpretation, employee relations, records retention, oversight of accurate and consistent data entry, help with new employee orientation, assist in recruitment processes and development/facilitation of employee training sessions as needed.

    Essential Functions:

    Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

    • System Maintenance and HR Administrative Support:

    o Serves as lead specialist and liaison between HR, payroll, finance, and other internal stakeholders during data quality audits to maintain system integrity and implement HRIS business process enhancement opportunities.

    o In collaboration with our HR/payroll provider and the HR team analyze, identify, and help correct technical problems and deficiencies.

    o Maintains the quality and consistency of the employee database.

    o Documents internal HR system processes/procedures, maintains HR records, prepares correspondence, and supports department projects/implementations.

    HR Support

    • Assist NYRA’s onboarding process and deliver new employee orientation, at our Saratoga Racetrack facility (when needed).

    • Main HR department contact at Saratoga and disseminate all HR-related issues to the appropriate HR professional.

    • Assist on an as-needed basis with HR-related activities at all phases of the employee life cycle, including, onboarding, performance management, status changes, and terminations. Coordinate HR data processing with appropriate support staff.

    • Ensure that personnel records comply with company, State, and Federal guidelines. Participate as needed in monthly/quarterly and annual audits of personnel records.

    • Participate in special projects as requested or desired; help clarify project objectives; set timetables and schedules; conduct research; develop and organize information; fulfill transactions.

    • Perform other projects as needed.

    • Provide backup support for data entry and management tasks in Human Resources systems.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Education: College Degree.

    • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience as a Human Resources Professional.

    • Other Requirements: Experience with unions, and labor relations preferred. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are highly desirable.

    • Strong computer literacy, including Excel and HRIS databases.
