    Superior Energy Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced **Contracts Specialist** to join its Legal Department under the direction of the Associate General Counsel, Global Operations. Superior provides a diversified portfolio of specialized oilfield services and equipment supporting drilling, completion, and production needs throughout the full lifecycle of oil and gas wells. With operations in North America and approximately 47 countries worldwide, Superior delivers solutions through a broad range of rental and well servicing brands.

     

    The Contracts Specialist will play a key role in supporting Superior’s global business units by aligning contractual risk with company strategy and ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. This position is based full-time at our Downtown Houston, Texas office.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    + Partner with business units to address legal needs and support commercial development strategies.

    + Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including master service agreements, purchase/work orders, vendor and sales contracts, bid/tender documents, guarantees, agency/distribution agreements, NDAs, and related documentation.

    + Ensure contracts are compliant with corporate policies, and structured to effectively manage and mitigate risk, including: (1) Use of correct templates and contracting entities. (2) Consideration of tax and operational implications. (3) Appropriate allocation and ringfencing of liabilities.

    + Promote best practices in contract review and controls, with experience using contract management systems (e.g., ContractWorks, DocuSign, Sharepoint) to streamline processes and maintain compliance. Proficiency in Word and Excel.

    + Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure contractual terms align with company risk tolerance and commercial objectives.

    + Apply knowledge of insurance and risk management principles, particularly property, casualty, and professional liability coverage.

    Education

    Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of **5 years of experience** in commercial contracting; **oilfield services industry experience strongly preferred** .

    Knowledge & Experience

    + Proven ability to draft, negotiate, and advise on complex agreements in a global context.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.

    + Confidence and professionalism when interacting directly with customers and business partners.

    + Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines.

    + Proactive, high-energy approach with a collaborative mindset and commitment to driving business success through continuous improvement and professional excellence.
