Job Summary
The McCluskey Center for Violence Prevention ( MCVP ) at the University of Utah seeks a part-time, in-person, staff member to assist in the day-to-day operations of the education and marketing teams. A successful candidate will have an openness to learn and a willingness to participate in the collective culture of the Center. The Program and Design Assistant will be responsible for moving across both the education and marketing teams to serve the mission of the MCVP to end relationship and sexual violence on college campuses.
Responsibilities
+ Supporting the Communications and Marketing Specialist with graphic design, production of marketing materials, event photography and videography, and contributing ideas to enhance campaign effectiveness and audience engagement.
+ Assisting both marketing and education outreach and university communication efforts to increase brand awareness and campus-wide engagement with the Center.
+ Working with the Education Coordinator to plan out ongoing professional development for student staff members.
+ Supporting student staff’s action projects and creative needs including but not limited to graphic design, copy-editing, and photography/video across multiple platforms.
+ Engaging in continued learning and professional development to better understand the mission of the MCVP .
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus two years of related experience required; ability to use logic and reasoning to prioritize tasks; computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet software, and/or database software preferred; demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be preferred.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences
+ Graphic design experience (Adobe Express/InDesign, Canva, Photoshop, etc.)
+ Experience with editing (such as Audacity and/or video editing)
+ Proficient knowledge and experience with Google Drive, Box, and Microsoft Applications
+ Social media management and market research skills
