Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE

Provides routine technical support for a research lab or facility. Collects, analyzes, and processes laboratory samples or research data. Performs a variety of tests, using routine techniques and methods. Assists in report writing. Sets up equipment and materials for course instruction. Collaborates on the design of new projects, techniques or methods.

Shift: Wed-Sat 7p-6:30a

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

+ Performs ultrasound imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

+ Adjusts equipment controls as needed to produce high quality images and prepares/presents them, with other pertinent patient information, for timely interpretation.

+ Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed.

+ Prepares room and patient specific to exam to be performed.

+ Uses an established work pattern to work efficiently and safely within an ultrasound environment. Reviews patient history and physician's orders.

+ Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.

+ Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and ensuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly.

+ Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Adheres to safety policies.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

+ Bachelor's degree in diagnostic medical sonography required or

+ Associate's degree and certificate in diagnostic medical sonography required

+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

+ Registered or registry eligible by the ARDMS upon hire required

+ Non-registered sonographers must obtain ARDMS Abdominal and OB/GYN certifications within 1 year
