Job Description:
The Payroll Tax Administrator is responsible for all payroll tax reporting, filings, payments, and inquiries required under regulatory compliance for Intermountain Health. This position possesses familiarity with the dynamic regulations of federal, state and local levels and works closely with the third-party tax vendor to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with all regulations and deadlines.
Essential Functions
+ Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, correcting, and reporting caregiver payroll tax records and ensuring calculations for all federal, state and local jurisdictions are compliant and entered in both the ERP and external vendor systems accurately and congruently. Support continuous review and balancing of employee tax data information.
+ Monitors filings of federal, state and local payroll taxes. Responsible for coordinating quarter-end and year-end payroll tax filings, including oversight of the W-2 process with the external preparer. Researches and resolves payroll taxation issues, prepares tax reconciliation documents, and files payroll tax returns as needed. Ensure daily funding requests are timely reviewed and submitted to all parties.
+ Enters all third-party sick payments into external vendor systems. Completes payroll balancing – biweekly, quarterly, and yearly – including W-2’s and W-2c’s. Makes all necessary corrections when discrepancies are found through balancing or the W-2 error report.
+ Acts as the Intermountain Health liaison with external vendors to develop ongoing processes to streamline for efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in the payroll tax and processing areas. Researches and corrects or adjusts errors that are discovered. Reviews, recommends, and implements improvements in processes within the department. Identifies and documents reoccurring issues and is proactive in finding solutions. Responsible for the ongoing accurate documentation of all payroll tax policies and procedures, including adherence to current company recordkeeping policies and procedures.
+ Establishes, maintains, and closes tax accounts with authorities as necessary. Works with the vendor to ensure any overpayments or underpayments are managed expeditiously.
+ Completes all Department of Labor and Bureau of Labor Statistics reporting.
+ Responds to caregiver questions and requests via phone, email and ticketing system.
+ Calculates overpayments and repayments for processing. Completes gross-up calculations for early sign-on bonuses and relocation expenses for inclusion on W-2s.
+ Conducts and assists with audits, including state and local audits. Applies for new accounts, makes adjustments and fulfills audit requests from external parties or internal departments (i.e., retirement). Participates in system testing of upgraded products and conversions.

Physical Requirements:
Qualifications
Required
+ Demonstrated experience with federal, multi-state and local payroll taxes.
+ Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of payroll tax regulations and processes.
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, dealing with firm deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
+ Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills and the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization and agencies.
Preferred
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, human resources or a related field is required. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education will be verified.
+ Certified Payroll Professional or Fundamental Payroll certification.
+ Experience with Workday, UKG, ADP and Intermountain Health’s PhysComp system.
+ Experience with healthcare and not-for-profit payroll.
+ Strong experience with payroll taxes
+ Strong experience with house tax filing
Physical Requirements
+ Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
+ Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
+ Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
+ For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$24.00 - $36.54
