    Position: Accounting Assistant (Part-time 24+ hours)

     

    Department: Finance

     

    Reports to: AR/AP Manager

    About the company:

     

    What You’ll Do

     

    As an Accounting Assistant, you’ll assist with everything from processing vendor payments to reconciling accounts and month-end closings. You’ll:

     

    + Provide backup support for other members of the Finance Team

    + Match invoices to purchase orders and receivers

    + File accounting documents in appropriate locations

    + Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding expense, payment status, invoicing and statements both AR and AP

    + Assist in monthly closing procedures; last business day of the month mandatory

    + Prepare all accounts payable accruals at month end and reconciles A/P sub ledgers to the general ledger

    + Reconcile various accounts such as prepaid expense and clearing accounts

    + Ensure billings and receivables are correctly processed in a timely manner.

    + Assist manager with analysis of data and reports.

    + Other duties as required

     

    What We’re Looking For

     

    + Associate degree in accounting, or 1-3 years of relevant experience

    + Solid knowledge of ERP systems and electronic invoice tools

    + Comfortable navigating a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

    + Advanced Excel skills and Microsoft Office proficiency

    + Strong organizational and communication skills

    + Ability to work onsite as needed and collaborate with cross-functional teams

     

    Physical Demands & Work Environment

     

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Accounts Payable Specialist role.     While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to:

    + Sit or remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time

    + Use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment

    + Frequently communicate with internal and external contacts, requiring the ability to talk, hear, and exchange information clearly

    + Occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, or lift office supplies and materials up to 20 pounds

    + Use close vision, including the ability to read detailed financial data, spreadsheets, and reports on screens and printed documents

     

    This position is primarily performed in an office environment and may require periodic in-person presence at the Newberg location to support team collaboration and business needs.
