    Job Summary

    Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities.

    Reports to: Director of Physical Rehabilitation

    FLSA: Non-exempt

    Essential Functions

    Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.

     

    Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.

     

    Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.

     

    Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly.

    Nonessential Functions

    Perform other duties as assigned.• Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.• Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.• Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary.• Accepts all call schedule as directed.• Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.

    Job Requirements

    *Minimum Education*X High school diploma or equivalent OR 10 years' experience in Direct Care (DSP, CNA, Residential Assistant, etc.) instead of diploma.

    X Graduate of a Program in Discipline X Preferred

    *Required Skills*Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

     

    Certifications:X Basic Life Support (BLS may be obtained within one week of patient care following orientation)
