    The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

     

    Scope of the Position

     

    The role will provide hands-on experience in troubleshooting IT issues, managing enterprise applications, and contributing to the development of IT solutions tailored to a cutting-edge solar wafer manufacturing environment. The intern will learn how to integrate IT systems with manufacturing operations, gain exposure to industry-specific applications, and develop technical and problem-solving skills in a high-tech, collaborative environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    The intern will support both the application team and IT operations team in maintaining and enhancing the plant's technology infrastructure, ensuring seamless production processes and optimal system performance.

    Education & Experience

    + Currently enrolled in computer science or another degree in the IT field

    + GPA of 3.0 or above

    + Relevant experience a plus

    Required Skills

    + The ideal candidate should possess a foundational understanding of programming concepts, including familiarity with basic coding principles, problem-solving, and debugging. While advanced expertise is not required, they should be comfortable working with code, learning new tools or languages as needed, and contributing to technical tasks in collaboration with the team.

    + Experience in analytics is a plus.

    •The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
