    Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Job Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve our manufacturing processes and products. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong sense of urgency and leadership qualities to join our team.

    Responsibilities

    + Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to improve manufacturing processes and products.

    + Investigate and resolve issues related to tooling, equipment, and processes.

    + Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow to design efficient layouts for equipment and workspaces.

    + Develop, recommend, and implement changes to enhance manufacturing processes and product quality.

    + Assist the Process Line Manager in developing capital and expense budgets.

    + Evaluate new products and make recommendations on manufacturing feasibility.

    + Train department personnel in safety, setup, operations, and troubleshooting of equipment.

    + Estimate production rates, setup, and tooling costs for new part setups.

    + Specialize in skill sets such as PLC programming, welding, automation, and vision systems.

    + Exercise authority within job scope as designated by the Manager.

    + Initiate actions to prevent violations of company integrity policies.

    + Adhere to safety policies, operational controls, and legal requirements.

    + Report or stop activities that do not conform to policies or may cause injury.

    + Provide support as requested by the supervisor.

    + Demonstrate problem-solving abilities on the shop floor.

    + Exhibit leadership characteristics and a results-oriented approach.

    + Apply extensive knowledge of Lean techniques in practical applications.

    Essential Skills

    + Manufacturing engineering expertise

    + Process improvement skills

    + Continuous improvement methodologies

    + Lean manufacturing knowledge

    + Proficiency in Solidworks

    + Experience in rubber molding

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field

    + Five or more years of related experience

    + CQI12 Coating or equivalent qualification

    + Minimum of five years’ experience in CQI for the area

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Blacksburg, Virginia.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.27/hr.
