    Job Description

    Join a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional primary health care and patient care management in a fast-paced clinical environment. As a Medical Assistant, you will support medical professionals in delivering comprehensive care to patients, preparing for treatments, and maintaining smooth operations within the clinic.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management.

    + Perform nursing and administrative duties.

    + Prepare patients for examination and treatment.

    + Take patient vital signs, review medications and allergies, and enter information into the EMR system, WebChart.

    + Prepare and maintain exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.

    + Assist physicians or PAs in preparing for medical procedures.

    + Verify patient identity by date of birth and full name.

    + Perform procedures and accompanying paperwork.

    + Promote the office discharge process, including scheduling tests, appointments, and managing lab orders and prescriptions.

    + Triage telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse practitioner.

    + Restock examination rooms weekly.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in taking vitals and patient care.

    + Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification.

    + Experience with blood collection and phlebotomy.

    + Proficiency in using the WebChart EMR system.

    + Excellent patient care and customer service skills.

    + Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Medical Assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA, AAMA, NHA, etc.) in good standing.

    + Experience in rheumatology, internal medicine, or pediatrics.

    + Completion of Medical Assistant schooling.

    + Ability to remain calm and effective in busy or stressful situations.

    Work Environment

    The clinic operates from 8am to 5:30pm, with occasional early start times as early as 7am depending on patient lab needs. No weekend work is required. Medical Assistants play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations, ensuring providers remain on schedule. The role includes rooming patients, handling voicemail inquiries, and collaborating with providers to address patient questions. A comprehensive 6-week training program is provided, with rotations across specialties before assignment to a specific provider or the float pool. The clinic houses 50 Medical Assistants and 32 providers, offering a collaborative and supportive environment for professional growth.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $24.00/hr.
