Job Title: Transmission Line Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Transmission Line Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for designing transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range and performing structural analysis and design of various structures, including pole, lattice, framed, and guyed structures. You will also perform foundation designs and conduct studies related to conductor selection, shielding, grounding, and induction. Additionally, you will develop cost estimates, schedules, and prepare specifications for the procurement of transmission line materials and construction.
Responsibilities
+ Design transmission lines within the 69kV to 765kV range.
+ Perform structural analysis and design of pole, lattice, framed, and guyed structures.
+ Conduct foundation designs and conductor selection studies.
+ Carry out shielding, grounding, and induction studies.
+ Develop cost estimates and schedules.
+ Prepare specifications for procurement of transmission line materials and construction.
+ Specify and model transmission line components using PLS-CADD.
+ Determine right of way requirements and calculate conductor sags.
+ Develop transmission line plan and profile drawings.
+ Review vendor submittals.
Essential Skills
+ Three or more years of related experience in transmission line engineering.
+ Knowledge of practical engineering principles, particularly in transmission line engineering.
+ Proficiency in PLS-CADD and structural analysis and design.
+ Familiarity with microstation and MS Office applications.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and designation as an Engineer in Training.
+ Proficiency with programs such as PLS-TOWER, SAG10, MFAD, ArcGIS, CDEGS, AutoCAD, and Microstation.
+ Experience in writing and supporting documentation for engineering calculations.
+ Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule with flexibility. This role offers an opportunity to grow into a project management or client-facing position in a booming industry focused on updating the country's infrastructure systems.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Englewood, Colorado.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $75.00/hr.
