    Job Title: Project Manager Job Description

     

    We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial mechanical HVAC construction projects of various sizes. The role involves managing and updating construction schedules, coordinating with project engineers, and ensuring safety compliance. This position requires attending pre-construction and jobsite meetings, visiting job sites to report progress, and conducting quality assessments.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage and update AC Install construction schedules.

    + Work with Project Engineers to plan the start of new AC Install projects, addressing safety, equipment, labor, materials, and rental needs.

    + Attend pre-construction and jobsite coordination meetings.

    + Visit job sites for ongoing projects to manage field progress and report.

    + Facilitate the work of AC installers and ensure project continuity.

    + Manage safety tailgates, job hazard analysis, and safety meetings.

    + Conduct progress and final quality assessments on projects.

    + Manage construction warranties, field redlines, and as-built plans.

    + Assist in other tasks as assigned by management.

    + Coordinate equipment delivery and logistics for project start-up.

    + Lead client-facing construction reviews and ensure project completion with integrity.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in project management within the air conditioning industry, focusing on commercial construction projects.

    + Field experience with HVAC system installation.

    + Proficiency in blueprint reading and managing multiple job sites.

    + Experience in commercial HVAC construction and project scheduling using MS Project.

    + Field coordination and safety management skills.

    + Leadership experience with internal crews, including installers, pipe fitters, and welders.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Knowledge of systems design, mechanical engineering, and energy efficiency.

    + Proficiency in Autocad, design calculations, and building codes.

    + Experience with vendor relationships, load analysis, and heat loss calculation software.

    + Familiarity with technical documentation, indoor air quality, and refrigeration systems.

    + Proficient with MS Office and able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

    + Ability to travel to construction job sites.

    + Knowledge of CAD software is a plus.

    Work Environment

    The role is based in Fullerton, CA, operating in a supportive and collaborative family-owned business environment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional travel to Dallas, Las Vegas, and the Bay Area. The company fosters a culture of teamwork and flexibility, with an emphasis on personal initiative and growth. Fieldwork requires PPE and involves variable conditions at construction sites.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fullerton, California.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $52.85/hr.
