    Job Description

    + We are looking for a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional support in our front office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for surgery scheduling, answering phone calls for referrals, scheduling patient tests, procedures, and hospital admissions. Additionally, the role requires scheduling follow-up appointments upon receipt of test results, performing administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, and reception, and occasionally assisting in clinical areas as needed.

    Responsibilities

    + Schedule surgeries and coordinate surgery-related logistics.

    + Answer phone calls for referrals and manage communication effectively.

    + Schedule patient tests, procedures, and hospital admissions.

    + Arrange follow-up appointments based on test results.

    + Perform administrative tasks including typing, filing, faxing, and reception duties.

    + Provide support in clinical areas when required.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in medical assisting and appointment scheduling.

    + Experience in insurance verification is mandatory.

    + Certification as a Medical Assistant.

    + Familiarity with EMR systems, particularly Athena.

    + Strong understanding of medical terminology.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Three years of front office medical assistant experience in OB/GYN, Urology, or surgery preferred.

    + Surgery scheduling experience is a plus.

     

    Work Environment

     

    + This role operates within a professional medical setting, with work hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The position is a short-term contract, providing an excellent opportunity for those looking to enhance their skills in a dynamic environment.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
