Job Title: Substation Project Manager Job Description

Are you ready to lead the design and delivery of high-impact substation projects? Join our Portland-area team as a Project Manager, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of power infrastructure.

Responsibilities

+ Drive the conceptual, preliminary, and final design of new, upgraded, and expanded substations.

+ Support material procurement, construction, commissioning, and energization phases.

+ Deliver comprehensive engineering packages including physical, electrical, civil, and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits, and specifications.

+ Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure seamless execution, client satisfaction, and stakeholder alignment.

+ Mentor and guide design engineers, drafters, and support staff to uphold quality and foster growth.

Essential Skills

+ Advanced knowledge of power engineering principles.

+ Proficiency in industry codes, standards, and design tools.

+ Familiarity with project management fundamentals and ability to support execution.

+ Minimum of 6 years in project and design engineering, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Strong organizational and planning abilities.

+ Proven ability to lead and mentor design personnel within a project team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

+ EIT certification required, Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

+ Experience in the utility or merchant power industry is a strong plus.

+ Protection & control substation design experience.

+ Master's degree considered a bonus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NA, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $67.31 - $76.92/hr.
