    Job Title: Scheduler

    Job Description

    Perform routine scheduling assignments that require the selection and application of resource monitoring principles, techniques, and technical knowledge of construction projects. This role involves tasks related to the collection and evaluation of data necessary to monitor project schedules. Proficiency in Primavera 6 is essential to schedule refinery turnaround tasks.

    Responsibilities

    + Plan work according to the prioritized list provided by the Unit Superintendent or Area Business Team.

    + Conduct field reviews of work orders to develop job packages complete with well-defined job steps, estimated man-hours, required materials, equipment, and necessary documentation.

    + Participate in daily maintenance coordination meetings, weekly scheduling meetings, daily Area Business Team meetings, and other ad-hoc meetings as necessary.

    + Utilize feedback from job packages to improve future planning.

    + Review the validity of the running maintenance backlog with appropriate members of the Area Business Team on a weekly basis.

    + Maintain communication with the Area Business Team and management regarding planning backlog status and continuously develop and improve electronic work packages.

    + Maintain communication with management during work execution for job step clarification and significant scope changes.

    + Communicate issues such as material delivery, QA/QC, and any schedule and cost differences from the original estimate. Ensure required material delivery dates by actively tracking the status of materials and partnering with Materials Management.

    + Collaborate with complex business team members to comply with the Planning Process document for follow-up and future repair plans.

    + Inform management of any issues that would prevent the execution of jobs within the appropriate time frame.

    + Develop all work plans in compliance with regulatory and refinery standards, policies, procedures, best practices, and guidelines.

    + Plan and schedule short-term shutdowns.

    + Formulate timelines and manpower estimates to determine the course of action in emergency situations.

    + Initiate material and equipment purchases as needed and work with the procurement department to ensure accurate ordering.

    Essential Skills

    + Fluency in Primavera 6

    + Project controls

    + Project scheduling

    + Experience in refinery construction and planning

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Ability to plan work according to prioritized lists

    + Field review skills for developing job packages

    + Strong communication skills for coordination with management and teams

    + Experience with electronic work packages

    + Knowledge of regulatory and refinery standards

    + Ability to handle emergency situations effectively

    Work Environment

    The position requires reaching for, handling, and manipulating objects. The candidate must use hands and arms to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. The role involves ascending construction sites, entering confined spaces, and successfully passing a pulmonary function test to wear a respirator. Climbing ladders and stairs in customer facilities is also necessary.

    The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
