Job Details The Assistant Head Chef is responsible for the supervision of meal preparation for patients, staff and visitors, and special events. Assumes the responsibilities of Head Chef / EX Chef in his/her absence. Hands on Culinary team leader responsible for the training of the culinary team in all aspects of food, handling, preparation and presentation. Requirements: AAS degree in Culinary Arts required Current Food Handlers Certificate 3 years’ experience as a Sous/Assistant Head Chef in a hotel, restaurant, hospital or similar setting required Must have supervisory experience Must be able to follow written and verbal directions with basic literacy in English Experience instructing co-workers in food handling and preparation procedures Knowledge of current food sanitation HCCAP and infection control methods Room Service Experience Preferred.
