About the role The Logistics Planner is responsible for overseeing domestic transload operations and supporting logistics activities related to the Mexican plant and carrier network. Key responsibilities include coordinating efficient container transload planning, managing relationships with 3PL partners and Mexican carriers, and executing daily truckload operations. Success in this role requires strong skills in operational troubleshooting, clear and proactive communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement within a dynamic, cross-border supply chain environment. This position is on-site in the San Diego, CA office with some travel to 3PL locations. Responsibilities Transload Operations Manage 3-to-2 container conversions at the Los Angeles, CA transload facility. Ensure all outbound shipments are fully loaded to maximize trailer capacity. Review dock reports to assist in load planning, resolve discrepancies, and reduce pallet storage costs. Proactively communicate issues with Leviton stakeholders. Cross-Border Coordination Ensure smooth inbound/outbound load flow for El Paso, TX customs warehouse. Clear products in pending status and communicate expected container delivery times with Leviton facilities. Support Mexican plants in optimizing secured cross-border truckload shipments. Compliance & Carrier Management Oversee shipments for CTPAT compliance and proactively resolve any issues. Partner with CTPAT compliance manager to maintain approved carrier list and enforce CTPAT guidelines. Vet, onboard, and maintain performance standards for Mexican carriers. Truckload Operations Tender shipments and track discrepancies within the Transportation Management System (TMS). Review and approve carrier and transload provider invoices for timely payment. Team Collaboration Cross-train with other team members to promote flexibility and teamwide support. Respond to operational requests and resolve logistics issues promptly. Manage team’s operational requests as required. Qualifications Must be fluent in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams. Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proactive and detail-oriented self-starter with the capacity to manage multiple projects and support multiple business functions simultaneously. Collaborates effectively in team settings and communicates confidently across various functions and departments within the Logistics organization. Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Supply Chain/Logistics or experience equivalent. 3-5 years in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations. Experience managing transload or cross-border shipments. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to travel to partner locations as needed. Strong understanding of carrier compliance and CTPAT regulations. Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) a plus. Experience planning a dedicated truckload fleet a plus.
