    Job Description

    Join Olsson’s Federal Engineering and Design Team as a Project Mechanical Engineer, where you’ll lead mechanical design efforts for federal infrastructure projects including VA and medical facilities, DoD facilities, and other government buildings. You’ll be part of a collaborative team delivering high-quality, efficient, and compliant mechanical systems that support critical federal missions.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Lead mechanical design for federal projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems for healthcare and institutional facilities.

    + Apply knowledge of VA design standards, UFC, and IBC codes to ensure regulatory compliance.

    + Prepare detailed engineering documents, cost estimates, and design calculations.

    + Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems with architectural and structural components.

    + Support proposal development and participate in federal RFP responses.

    + Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

    + PE license required.

    + 6+ years of experience in mechanical design, with strong preference for VA or healthcare facility experience.

    + Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and HVAC design software.

    + Familiarity with VA design standards and federal project delivery processes.

    + Strong communication and project coordination skills.
