The **Harborview Medical Center Pharmacy Department** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Pharmacy Lead Technician – Purchasing and Recall Coordination** **.**
WORK SCHEDULE
• Full-Time / 40 hours per week
• Rotating/Variable Shift
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
+ Provide direction and technical support for the pharmacy departmental supply chain, including purchasing, receiving, accounts payable, and inventory management
Strong candidates will have:
+ Working knowledge of desktop computers, including proficiency with MS Office applications, E-mail and internet access
+ Working knowledge of pharmacy wholesaler purchasing systems and pharmacy or materials management information systems
+ Excellent and highly-detailed organizational skills
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a strong sense of customer support
+ Interest and aptitude for health-care and information technology
+ Three years of Pharmacy purchasing of equivalent experience
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Independently manage day-to-day operations of an assigned program in the Pharmacy Department purchasing area
+ Coordinate the review of recalls for Pharmacy Department
+ Order and maintain appropriate levels of pharmacy drug and supply stocks
+ Direct Pharmacy Technicians and others to ensure that the supply chain processes are managed in a timely and appropriate fashion
+ Coordinate communication of pharmaceutical shortages for the organization
+ Prepare outdated and return merchandise for shipping to wholesaler or manufacturer
+ Procure items stocked in Medical Stores for Pharmacy Department use per appropriate procedures
+ Manage purchasing requisition process and procedures. Provide appropriate vendor information and contract references to UW Medicine Purchasing
+ Manage accounts payables process per UW Medicine and State of Washington requirements
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician II OR equivalent education/experience.
**LEGAL REQUIREMENT:** State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification.
