    Description

We are seeking a strategic and technically fluent **AI Product Manager** to lead the product vision, roadmap development, and customer alignment for a shared services AI/ML enablement platform. This role is central to shaping how IRS mission teams build, deploy, and scale models using platform services such as Databricks, Amazon SageMaker, and Bedrock. The Product Manager collaborates deeply with engineering, service delivery, architecture, and customer success teams to evolve feature direction, understand customer needs, and ensure our offerings stay aligned with emerging trends in GenAI and AI/ML technologies.

This is a high-visibility role that engages early and often with **architects across all engineering teams** to shape feasible, scalable solutions. As new capabilities are envisioned, the Product Manager ensures alignment with technical feasibility and architectural principles, enabling smooth design integration into the platform ecosystem.

    Key Responsibilities:

+ Define and evolve the **product roadmap** based on customer needs, mission priorities, platform gaps, and AI/ML technology trends.

+ Partner with customers to understand AI/ML maturity, use case types, and barriers to adoption; translate findings into platform-level strategy.

+ Tailor product strategies for **diverse mission teams** , considering maturity levels, problem domains, and infrastructure readiness.

+ Work closely with the Service Delivery and CSx teams to align feature design, rollout planning, and onboarding experience with product intent.

+ Collaborate with platform architects and engineering teams to validate technical feasibility of roadmap initiatives and drive platform evolution.

+ Drive the development of epics and backlog items tied to high-value customer impact and strategic technical direction.

+ Establish and monitor product KPIs tied to adoption, satisfaction, and operational ROI; refine priorities based on measurable outcomes.

+ Lead stakeholder demos, roadmap reviews, and pilot planning to validate strategic hypotheses.

+ Maintain awareness of emerging AI/ML tooling (e.g., foundation models, fine-tuning frameworks, open-source stacks) and translate industry trends into actionable platform improvements.

+ Shape and communicate product direction across internal delivery and customer-facing teams, ensuring cross-functional clarity and consistency.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.

+ 8+ years of product management or technical program management experience, ideally in AI/ML, data platforms, or infrastructure tooling.

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

+ Demonstrated experience shaping platform-level capabilities (e.g., onboarding, data pipelines, deployment services) in partnership with engineering and architecture teams.

+ Familiarity with **GenAI capabilities** (LLMs, prompt pipelines, fine-tuning workflows) and platforms like Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, and LangChain.

+ Experience working with Agile or SAFe methodologies in cross-functional government or enterprise teams.

+ Strong collaboration mindset with a proven ability to coordinate across multiple teams—engineering, delivery, compliance, and CSx.

    Desired Skills:

+ Active IRS Security Clearance highly desired.

+ Understanding of AI/ML lifecycle components including training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.

+ Knowledge of Trustworthy AI practices, compliance needs (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53), and audit readiness for model deployment.

+ Experience shaping product roadmaps in public sector or regulated domains.

+ Strong communication and synthesis skills—able to bridge executive strategy, customer pain points, and technical constraints.

Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
