Description
The Level II Infrared Technician will identify business development opportunities and apply existing inspection and testing technology to service our customers. She/he will also be involved in the development and application of new inspection, testing, and training of other technical personnel.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
+ Provide Field and/or shop work as directed by client.
+ Set up and calibrate equipment.
+ Operate and maintain equipment as necessary.
+ Interpret, evaluate and document results.
+ Must be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method in which certified and capable of directing the work of other technicians.
+ Must be familiar with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the client.
+ Work with minimal supervision.
+ Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
+ Deliver and strive to always obtain quality results.
+ Analyze information skillfully.
+ Edit and present numerical data effectively.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
+ Valid driver’s license/clean driving record
+ High School graduate or equivalent required.
+ Strong Mechanical aptitude
+ Graduate of a specialized Thermal/Infrared Testing technical program meeting the minimum requirements of ASNT-CP-105.
+ Must be able to communicate with clients, supervisors and co-workers.
+ Ability to read technical documents and engineering specifications is preferred.
+ Proven ability to follow precise directions and procedures.
+ Prior certification as an IR Level II with one (1) year experience or prior certification as an IR Level I technician with adequate field experience hours to certify to Level II is required.

+ Quality ~ demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and monitor own work to ensure quality.
+ Safety ~ actively promotes safety procedures; use all equipment and materials properly.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Field duties require outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
+ Interaction with other employees, as well as clients.
+ Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
+ Must be physically fit and able to carry 35 lbs frequently.
