    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Prepare and set up surgical instrumentation and equipment according to department standards and surgeon preference cards.

    + Maintain a sterile field and ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are ready and functioning properly.

    + Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures, providing instruments and supplies promptly.

    + Implement and adhere to aseptic techniques, including practices to prevent retained foreign objects and ensure safe medication labeling and handling.

    + Handle specimens safely and in accordance with established protocols.

    + Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices and technological advancements.

    + Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

     

    Salary Range: $37.50- $49.46Qualifications

    We're seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated professional with:

    + Working knowledge of use, function, and operation of operating room equipment, instrumentation, and furniture

    + Working knowledge of operating room sanitation

    + Working knowledge of aseptic technique

    + Working knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and terminology

    + Ability to communicate with other staff to obtain and provide information

    + Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with peers and other co-workers

    + Ability to accept shift changes to meet the department's needs.

    + Skill in setting priorities, recognizing emergencies and taking appropriate action based on experiences or according to instruction from the nurse in charge.

    + Skill in performing independently and following through on assignment with minimal direction and supervision.

    + Ability in performing repetitive work according to set procedures, sequence, and pace.

    + Ability to respond to emergency calls, in case of a disaster, and to follow instructions.

    + Ability to lift heavy objects, push or pull heavy carts, handle surgical equipment carefully and safely, and stand for long periods.

    + Ability to learn new procedures and improve existing skills by participating in various types of training courses.

    + BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
