    Opportunity Overview:

    As a Robotics Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical support for Universal Robots (UR) and Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) systems. This role involves troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and customer training across North America. You will serve as a key technical resource, ensuring optimal system performance and customer satisfaction while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.

     

    This is a customer-facing role requiring self-management, strong problem-solving skills, and extensive travel. You will collaborate with internal teams, distributors, and end-users to resolve complex issues and contribute to product development feedback.

     

    + Technical Support: Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair services for robotic systems and components.

    + Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance to minimize downtime and extend system life.

    + Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate service records, case documentation, warranty claims, and CRM updates.

    + Customer Training: Deliver hands-on training and coaching to customers and internal teams on system operation, maintenance, and safety.

    + Product Feedback: Act as the voice of the customer by providing feedback to engineering and product teams regarding system performance, deficiencies, and desired enhancements.

    + Inventory Management: Maintain service tools, spare parts, and test equipment inventory.

    + Sales & Support Collaboration: Identify upsell opportunities during service visits and support sales teams with technical insights.

    + Trade Show & Demo Support: Maintain demo units and support technical setup for exhibitions and customer demos.

    + Mentor junior technicians and collaborate with cross[1]functional teams to improve service delivery.

    + Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related technical field.

    + Technical certifications in robotics or automation are a plus.

    + Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

    + 1-3+ years in field service, robotics, automation, or electro-mechanical systems (Experience with 6- axis robots and AMRs preferred).

    + Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

    + Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams.

    + Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, actuators, and industrial networking.

    + Programming experience (C++, Python, Java) is a plus.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Strong customer service orientation.

    + Ability to work effectively both under minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.

    + Proactive, curious, and solution-oriented mindset.

    + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

    + Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

    + Must be located within 90 minutes of a major airport.

    + Willingness to travel up to 80% domestically and internationally.

    Compensation:

    The base salary range for this role is $55,300 - $88,500 This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

     

    Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
