Join our growing team! Danfoss Sondex is looking for an energetic shipping lead to join our team. The Shipping Lead is responsible for planning and coordinating outbound shipments to ensure products are delivered to customers on time and in full compliance with all shipping requirements. This role plays a key part in meeting delivery performance targets, improving shipping processes, and acting as the main point of contact between the shipping department, production and sales. This is an onsite position at our facility in Lousiville, KY. The hours for this position are 6:30am-3pm, Monday through Friday with the occasional Saturday and over-time eligible.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Develop and maintain shipping plans based on customer requirements and confirmed delivery dates
• Schedule and coordinate truck shipments with carriers and forwarding agents
• Ensure all shipping paperwork is accurate and complete, including Bills of Lading, invoices, and international documentation for Canada and Mexico
• Ensure proper packaging and handling of items according to the mode of transport
• Invoice products and complete daily shipping transactions (“end of day”)
• Act as the primary point of contact for the Sales team and customers regarding shipping matters
• Monitor and analyze the Delivery Performance KPI, including Pareto analysis and root cause identification for missed deliveries
• Create, maintain, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and standard work materials
• Implement and maintain visual management tools (e.g., shipping board) to monitor progress and performance
• Support day-to-day shipping operations, including resolving shipping tracer issues and assisting team members
• Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline shipping processes and improve on-time delivery
• Coordinate and support shipping teams to ensure timely processing and dispatch of units
• Communicate professionally and positively with all internal and external customers
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
• High School Diploma/GED and three or more years relevant work experience
• Preferred: One-year certificate from college or technical school
• Ability to pass forklife and crane certification
• Computer literacy and strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of process documentation and record keeping
• Knowledgeable of ERP software such as Axapta or SAP
• Ability to self-start and perform with minimal supervision
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Team player and ability to fit into an established team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups
• U.S. work authorization
