    Position Title:Postdoc Research Associate

    Job Description:

    Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

    The Postdoc Research Associate will provide program support to the Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Fellowship project, and will work closely with collaborators at the University of Maine, the USDA Midwest Climate Hub, the USDA Northeast Climate Hub, and American Farmland Trust, among others.

    Duties include:

    + Providing direct support to program participants (farmers and agricultural advisors)

    + Organizing educational workshops

    + Evaluating program activities

    + Developing educational materials and other duties as assigned

    + Coordinating educational programming with farmers and agricultural service providers

    + Developing and presenting climate information to inform agricultural decision-making

    + Designing and implementing evaluation tools

    Required Minimum Qualifications:

    PhD in agricultural education and studies, with emphasis on social science research, evaluation, and extension/outreach

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience with extension and outreach, and program evaluation

    + Familiarity with climate-related educational programming delivered in person and remotely

    + Field experience in natural resources or agriculture.

    + Experience with the evaluation of climate change adaptation programming

    Department/Program & College Description:

    The Postdoc Research Associate will be located in the ISU Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice. The primary program that the post-doc will work on is called the Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Fellowship, which is running four fellowship programs. These cohort-based learning opportunities are for farmers and agricultural advisors in the Northeast and Midwest who are interested in agriculture-related adaptation and mitigation strategies and planning, as well as peer-to-peer networking and support.
