    Summary:

    The Mission of the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) is to create a model correctional system that provides equitable access to programming and opportunities that reflect a community experience, foster connections, and restore victims of crime. Clinicians with the Idaho Department of Correction work inside correctional institutions/prisons and Probation & Parole District Offices around the state. These positions perform assessments, program assignments, treatment referrals and project management the Clinician vacancy at Central Office-Boise. This position will report directly to the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Clinical Supervisor under the oversite of Deputy Chief of Community Corrections.

    Responsibilities:

    + Perform behavioral health assessment on those under community supervision of Probation or Parole.

    + Determine client's needs for additional services and referral to behavioral health services, including Substance Use Co-occurring disorders.

    + Participate in the delivery of programmatic based groups and individuals.

    + Provide crisis intervention.

    + Facilitate multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings.

    + Provide the clinical role among fellow district team members. This can include but not be limited to: Probation and Parole officers, Presentence Investigators, District leadership, & Other team members as identified.

    + Provide direct clinical oversight of district-based SUD and other behavioral health team.

    + Manage behavioral health court ordered (Idaho Code 19-2524) requests and assignments with emphasis on substance use disorder assessment and ASAM based level of care recommendations.

    + Assist in policy and program development.

    + Additional program development on other special projects and teams.

    + Other duties as assigned by clinical supervisor.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    + Some knowledge or experience of the criminal justice system; including assessing criminogenic risk and risk associated with substance abuse relapse

    + Some knowledge of screening/assessing with ASAM criteria.

    + Experience supervising staff in a professional setting.

    + Good knowledge of drug & alcohol treatment course work. Typically gained by a minor in addiction studies, or graduate certificate.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + A master's degree (or higher) in a direct clinical practice Human Services field is required for this position. (Master's degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, psychiatric nursing, or very closely related field of study.)

    + Willing to work in a correctional facility and may include working non-traditional hours during evenings and or weekends.

    Specialty Qualifications:

    + Must possess a current Idaho license as a Licensed Master's Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor or be eligible within 90 days from the date of hire.
