Job Title: Electrical Superintendent Job Description
The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all electrical construction activities on-site to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
+ Direct and supervise electrical subcontractors and field crews.
+ Review and interpret construction documents, specifications, and shop drawings.
+ Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules and site logistics plans.
+ Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and company safety policies.
+ Conduct daily pre-task planning and weekly safety meetings.
+ Coordinate with the Site Superintendent and Safety Director to implement site-specific safety plans.
+ Verify that all tools, equipment, and personnel are qualified and prepared for assigned tasks.
+ Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
+ Monitor progress and quality of electrical installations and energization tasks.
+ Maintain clear communication with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
+ Oversee loop checks, point-to-point testing, and instrumentation calibration to ensure quality assurance.
+ Build strong relationships with clients, engineers, and contractors for smooth project execution and issue resolution.
+ Address field challenges promptly, adapt to changes, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
Essential Skills
+ Deep understanding of electrical systems, including low and medium voltage.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
+ Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and OSHA safety regulations.
+ Capability to develop and manage construction schedules, including short-term plans.
+ Experience in supervising field operations and managing subcontractor performance.
+ Knowledge of troubleshooting in construction and commercial construction environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical construction.
+ Electrical Journeyman License.
+ Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and construction practices.
+ Proven ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors effectively.
+ Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Work Environment
The work environment is an active construction site, specifically a K-12 school. This role offers an opportunity to step into a Superintendent role and learn from current industry professionals in a growing company.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Saint George, South Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $37.00/hr.
