    Engineering Extrusion Technician

    Job Description

    This role provides technical support for medical tubing extrusion, involving the extrusion and combination of resins and colorants, or working according to engineering requests. The technician is responsible for the safe and proper production of medical-grade extruded tubing, improving quality, and reducing scrap while meeting task and cycle time requirements. Duties include operating, cleaning, and maintaining equipment, handling work documents, and potentially working on new products, processes, and test methods. The technician supports and provides training efforts, and possesses knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and GMP standards or other quality projects related to tubing extrusion.

    Responsibilities

    + Apply knowledge of technical concepts and practices to resolve manufacturing and/or research and development tasks.

    + Perform setup, testing, repair, inspection, and maintenance of area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and products.

    + Troubleshoot and solve problems requiring interpretation of procedures and practices.

    + Analyze situations or data to identify issues and trends.

    + Collect, compile, measure, organize, and record data, provide input to engineering, qualifications and validation studies, and develop or revise documents and procedures.

    + Plan, organize, and prioritize daily work routine to meet established schedules and assigned tasks or projects.

    + Communicate effectively as a team member with other functional groups and internal customers, and potentially contact outside vendors.

    Essential Skills

    + Hands-on experience in GMP, plastic extrusion, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 standards.

    + Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in medical extrusion.

    + Minimum educational equivalent to a high school diploma.

    + 3+ years' experience in engineering within the medical device field.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is supportive and state-of-the-art, with brand new equipment and facilities. It fosters a culture focused on collective problem-solving and community spirit. The area is a class 7 clean room, new to the organization and site, with several products expected over the next six months. Mentorship is available, but the setting resembles a start-up environment, emphasizing career building and collaboration.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
