    Job Description

    We are looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional primary health care and patient care management in a fast-paced clinical environment. As a Medical Assistant, your responsibilities will support medical professionals in delivering comprehensive care to patients, preparing for examinations and treatments, while ensuring the smooth operation within the clinic.

     

    A diploma from a Medical Assistant accredited program is required. While certification is NOT mandatory, but it is highly preferred. We also offer opportunities for non-certified medical assistants to obtain certification and receive training through our company! *Certification not required, but will help get certification while employed in 6 months*

    Responsibilities

    + Assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management.

    + Perform nursing and administrative duties.

    + Prepare patients for examination and treatment.

    + Enter health questionnaire information into the Electronic Medical Records system, WebChart.

    + Take patient vital signs, review medications and allergies, and enter information into the EMR system, WebChart.

    + Prepare and maintain exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.

    + Assist physicians or PAs in preparing for medical procedures.

    + Verify patient identity by date of birth and full name.

    + Perform medical procedures and complete accompanying paperwork.

    + Promote the office discharge process, including scheduling tests, appointments, and managing lab orders and prescriptions.

    + Triage telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse practitioner.

    + Medical Assistants should be prepared to play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations, ensuring providers remain on schedule.

    + Rooming patients, handling in-mail/voicemail inquiries, and collaborating with providers to address patient questions.

     

    Qualifications & Essential Skills

     

    + Required: Completion of Medical Assistant schooling completed from an accredited program.

    + Required: Must have 1-2 years of clinical medical assisting experience. (patient care, vitals, blood collection, rooming patients, etc.)

    + Required: Excellent patient care and customer service skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    + Not Required but Nice to Have: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification in good standing.

    + Proficiency in using the WebChart EMR system.

    + Experience with insurance billing.

    + Ability to remain calm and effective in busy or stressful situations.

     

    Work Environment

     

    + Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Off on Sat/Sun.

    + on various tasks as needed and must maintain a professional demeanor.

    + Fast-paced and requires the ability to act calmly and effectively in busy or stressful situations.

    + The work environment is required to follow the adherence to policies for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal professional appearance is required.

    + *Medical Assistant diploma is Required. Certification is NOT required but preferred. Will help get CCMA Certification after training period!*

    + A comprehensive 6-week training program is provided, with rotations across throughout all specialties/providers before assigned to a specific provider or the float pool.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $24.00/hr.
