Description

We are looking for an experienced Non Profit or Education Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Lenox, Massachusetts. In this role, you will oversee key financial functions, including the month-end close processes, ensuring the accuracy of general ledger accounts, preparing financial statements and operating expense analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Execute the execute month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

• Perform account reconciliations and provide detailed analysis to support financial accuracy.

• Manage journal entries and ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions.

• Oversee the accounting for endowment funds, ensuring proper allocation and compliance.

• Collaborate on the development and tracking of the operating budget, providing insights and recommendations.

• Support financial audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.

• Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements across all accounting activities.

Requirements • Proven experience in managing month-end close processes and general ledger activities.

• Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and audit processes.

• Expertise in performing detailed account reconciliations and journal entries.

• Familiarity with accounting for endowment funds and related compliance requirements.

• Proficiency in budgeting and financial planning processes.

• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong communication and organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities.

• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
