    What you’ll be doing: As our Overnight Residential Manager, you will be providing supervision to our overnight IRA staff and responsible for the oversight of delivery of services at our certified sites in the Buffalo, NY and surrounding area.

     

    For this Full Time (40 hours weekly) position, you will also be responsible for…

     

    + Completing walk-throughs of the IRA to ensure cleanliness, possible hazards & ensuring all exits are cleared of obstacles

    + Completing weekly & monthly routine paperwork responsibilities & duties as assigned by our Associate Directors

    + Ensuring overall safety of our people, staff & building

    + Regular scheduled hours will be based on position needs with alternating weekends (May also have to work on an occasional holiday depending on program needs)

    What we need from you:

    Bachelor’s Degree plus (1) yr direct care experience OR

     

    Associate’s degree plus (3) yrs full time paid direct care experience OR

     

    High School diploma or equivalent plus (5) yrs full time paid direct care experience

     

    Valid NYS Driver’s License & approved driving record

    Position Summary:

    Provides supervision to overnight IRA staff and is responsible for the oversight of the delivery of services and supports at the certified sites.

    Reporting Relationship:

    Receives direct supervision from the Associate Director of Residential Services. While acting as a function of Administration, the Overnight Manager provides oversight, observation and supervision, but operates outside of the IRAs’ basic functions, (scheduling, discipline, etc.).

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Based on an established schedule, will travel to different IRA’s each day. The purpose of the visits is to ensure that IRA staff are completing their assigned duties and adhering to the specific IRA protocols and procedures.

    + Intervenes with individuals' inappropriate and/or potentially injurious behaviors in the least restrictive manner possible, while maintaining a safe environment.

    + Assures individuals' overall safety through maintaining safety standards, familiarity with emergency safety procedures.

    + Complete a walk-through of the IRA to ensure for cleanliness, possible trip hazards, and ensuring that all exits are clear of obstacles.

    + Check the IRA computer to ensure that no unauthorized activity was conducted during the overnight shift.

    + Observes one announced and conducts one unannounced overnight fire drill annually. Observes the fire drill, evacuations & staff implementation of the Fire Evacuation Plan. Will be knowledgeable of the Fire Alarm System in each IRA & capable of running drills using the system.

    + Provides first aid and CPR when necessary.

    + Maintains a regular visit schedule but is flexible to the needs of the program and requests to check IRA’s on short notice or to respond to emergency situations within an IRA.

    + Completes all required documentation in individual and agency records; oversees maintenance of those records as appropriate.

    + Ensures a clean, safe environment by coordinating housekeeping and minor maintenance tasks.

    + Meet weekly for supervision with the Assoc. Director of Res. Services and attend the monthly manager staff meetings.

    + Assures confidentiality of information about individuals.

    + Completes weekly and monthly routine paper work responsibilities and other duties as assigned by the Associate Director.

    + Responds to emergency telephone calls as part of the Agency’s emergency contact mechanism.

    + The regular scheduled hours would typically be 12 mid. to 8:00 am. with one weekend day as part of the schedule. May have to work an occasional holiday depending on program needs.

    + Reliable transportation is required and mileage will be paid for travel between IRA’s.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements:

    Bachelor’s Degree PLUS one year full-time paid direct service experience in the Human Services field.

    OR

    Associate’s Degree PLUS three years full-time paid direct service experience in the Human Services field.

    OR

    High School or equivalent diploma PLUS five years full-time paid direct service experience in the Human Services field.

    Must have a valid NYS driver's license and an approved driving record.

     

    Medication Administration and First Aid Certification, CPR, and Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention-Revised training (SCIP) must be taken as provided by the agency within 90 days of hire and must be maintained.

    The ability to read, write, analyze, be perceptive/comprehensive, show good judgement, have good math &, decision making skills, independent action, planning & prioritizing and follow directions. Work independently as well as cooperatively with others. Be approachable, enthusiastic, personable, work under pressure and meet job-related deadlines accordingly.

     

    + Human Relations Skills:

     

    The ability to communicate with individuals in a positive manner, demonstrate the ability to be a leader and serve as an appropriate role model to staff members. Receive supervision instruction in a positive manner. Adhere to and administer Agency’s policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.

     

    + Equipment Operation:

     

    The ability to operate business equipment; telephones, fax machines, copiers, calculators, etc. Proficient in the operation of the computer’s hardware and software including applications and programming.
